Adventuring with Herbert Putkey

Theresa had a Conference in Palm Springs, so I tagged along. The hotel hosting the conference was pretty fancy (valet parking only!) so i tried to take advantage of that. I arrived on Thursday, and went to see The Living Desert. It’s basically a zoo dedicated to the flora and fauna of the deserts of the world. They had animals such as Giraffes and Zebras. It also had a 5 mile hiking trail, which I did part of.

We went to visit Jenna Linn Putkey, our niece, born in the middle of March. Of course she was very cute, but still too “newborn” for us to figure out who she looked like.

Theresa’s brother, Brian, married his long-time girlfriend Kathy this weekend. The ceremony was at the Lake Natoma Inn, outside of Sacremento. Theresa and I flew down on Friday afternoon, and came back on Monday. We had a late dinner and drink with Frannie and Mark on Friday after we got in. The rehearsal was on Saturday afternoon, and afterwards we went to a Mexican restaurant attached to the Inn for snacks and Margharitas. Shortly afterwards we went out for dinner - I think you get an idea how the weekend went!

The ceremony was on Sunday at 11am. Brian was giddy with excitement. The reception followed immediately afterwards. It was nice to see a lot of friends and relatives that we haven’t seen in a while.

Christmas - We went to California for Christmas with the Putkeys. We visited Megan in San Francisco and then went to Meadow Vista. We had a second Christmas back in Vancouver afterward.

4H (October 2005) - The traditional Happy birthday, Hat, Halloween, Happy birthday (2 birthdays!) party.

Bowron Lakes (July/August 2005) - a week long canoe/camping trip in the middle of BC.

Van Dusen Gardens (July 2005) - Beautiful gardens in the middle of Vancouver.

Toronto (April 2005) - UBC reunion. Karyn, Mike, Sam and I visit Dave in T.

Thailand, Penang, and Vietnam (2004/2005) - The annual Christmas trip to see Mom and Dad. Sharon and Theresa came too.
